Audi's parent company, Volkswagen, thinks some welding mistakes were made during the manufacturing of certain 2020 vehicles. A bad weld in the backrest adjustment will likely break in a rear-end crash, allowing the seat to move and turning a minor rear-end collision into a trip to the hospital.

Notes About the Recall

  • The majority of the 7,900 recalled vehicles are VWs, but the 2020 Q5 and SQ5 have also been named.
  • The recall is expected to begin on October 25th, 2020.

The best way to find out what's wrong with a vehicle is from the people who drive them. Not only do owner complaints help us rank vehicles by reliability, but they're often used to spark class-action lawsuits and warranty extensions. Plus, they're a great way to vent.
